When nature calls often we're too busy on instagram or answering an email to pick up. The world has gone virtual making it impossible to unplug. Unlike before, removing ourselves from the chaos of our own lives has become just about the only thing we cannot do from home. That day trip or weekend get-a-way needed to quiet the storm is so necessary and should almost always be someplace near.
Lake George is a quaint town located upstate New York. Three and a half hours north of the city and you'll arrive to a Lake Como like experience minus the travel band. Escaping the city is v necessary during these times especially for those who are still hesitant to fly. Choosing a destination in general is challenging especially when it's someplace close enough to drive. In the case of Lake George the decision was made for me so it's only right that I share.
Typically a seasonal summer escape, Lake George is at it's peak MDW through LDW. Already planning to return next summer I'm so thankful to have experienced it's beauty in the Fall. The changing of the leaves and the crisp autumn air recharged me.
Honestly, do not waste your time researching anywhere else. The Sagamore Resort is the best hotel in Lake George. Located on it's own private peninsula everything you need is a walk away. Voted top 25 resorts in the northeast, it exceeds every expectation. The lake feels like it's yours!
