Attending the TriBeCa film festival in New York has been an annual pleasure of mine these past few years. Literally, with no hesitation the moment my dear friend extended her invitation to the 69th Cannes Film Festival Awards I wasted no time looking for a dress. This trip in particular being my fifth visit to France I was extremely excited to finally get to experience the French Riviera. With less than a week to prepare for Cannes I was actually relieved to only be visiting for the weekend. Beginning May 11th until the 22nd the Cannes Film Festival is held annually in the South France. Previewing new films of all genres and documentaries from all around the world it was truly an experience to remember. Since founded in 1946 it has become one of the most publicised of all the film festivals. Aside from the films this invitation-only festival is known for it's villa parties, celebrities who attend and most importantly who they wear on the red. Definitely being the it spot to begin the summer season I was beyond ecstatic to be amongst those in attendance. Typically when I travel anywhere oversees I prefer to stay a minimum of one week and possibly travel to more than one country. This trip being my shortest Europe stay ever and most certainly not the last. The more I travel the more I understand and appreciate my last minute yet spontaneous voyages such as Cannes this past weekend because nothing beats the random rush. The French Riviera has now become the focal point to my future visits to France. Already planning to revisit I can't wait to explore and truly capture everything I missed this weekend.
